MartinWren, P.C. Attorney Ron Wiley Appointed as Fluvanna Circuit Court Commissioner in Chancery

The judges of the 16th Circuit of Virginia recently appointed Ronald D. Wiley, Jr., Of Counsel to MartinWren, P.C., a Commissioner in Chancery for the Circuit Court of Fluvanna County. He looks forward to serving in Fluvanna Circuit Court cases involving real estate title and settlement practices or other legal issues on which his experience and knowledge could be helpful to the Court, the parties, or their counsel. He would be glad to discuss being appointed in particular cases.

An appointment of Ron Wiley to serve as a Commissioner in Chancery in the Circuit Courts of Greene, Madison, and Orange Counties also is being circulated among the judges of the 16th Circuit by Judge Daniel R. Bouton.  Ron is available for appointment in other local circuit courts, too, particularly for Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville cases.

Ron Wiley became Of Counsel with MartinWren, P.C., in November 2010 after seventeen years as Senior Vice President and Regional Counsel for Southern Title Insurance Corporation, working from its Charlottesville office. While with Southern Title, Ron managed the company’s business in the western parts of Virginia, provided underwriting counsel and support for its Virginia offices and agencies, handled claims, and planned and taught its Virginia continuing education programs. Before joining Southern Title, he was in private practice with another Charlottesville law firm for more than seven years.

Ron will concentrate on matters involving real estate, title insurance, and closing practices. With over 25 years’ experience, he has been a frequent and popular teacher of continuing education courses for real estate attorneys and title insurance agents. Ron also is available to associate with other attorneys handling matters within his areas of concentration and to serve as an expert witness.

Ron has been married for more than 30 years to Gail Hyder Wiley. They have raised two adult sons and have been active leaders in Westminster Presbyterian Church and local Boy Scouting.

  1. The appointment to serve in Greene County cases has been entered by all the circuit judges. Appointments to serve in Madison and Orange County cases remain pending.

    • I now have confirmation the orders for Madison and Orange were entered in early July. It’s just taken some time for the clerks there to forward copies of the orders to me. I look forward to working with area judges and attorneys on matters in which my service as a Commissioner would be helpful.
