A tragic motorcycle wreck in Nelson County claimed the life of an Annapolis, Maryland resident.
In late July, the Daily Progress reported the accident at the intersection of US 29 and route 56, where the 47-year-old motorcycle driver collided with a 2010 Honda Civic.
According to police reports, the Honda’s driver had pulled into a crossover space in order to turn onto route 56.
The driver was charged with reckless driving, and police are still investigating.
Unique Nelson County Traffic Risks
This area of the central Virginia region carries different risks for drivers than other kinds of areas around congested urban spaces, such as those in Northern Virginia or even in downtown Charlottesville.
The rural roads of the Nelson County area can be difficult to navigate for those who aren’t used to traveling on them. Especially for those who grew up or live in metropolitan areas or suburbs, the country road structures can be particularly dangerous. Drivers may be used unused to low volumes of traffic, and less able to anticipate a single vehicle acting in what they perceive to be an erratic fashion.
Assessing Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Cases
These are the kinds of issues that local Virginia personal injury lawyers look at when they are called upon to advance a client’s interests in court. In order to represent families who have suffered a loss or injury, these legal professionals look at the behaviors of at-fault drivers. They also look at the overall context of an accident, and what factors led to the hazards that cause harm, to see whether any kind of third party negligence influenced the case.
